Recombinant Human Interleukin-1 beta
Molecular weight: mol wt (18 and 25 kDa, monomer, glycosylated)
Background: interleukin-1 (IL-1) is a cytokine produced by multiple leukin-1 cells in the context of infection and inflammation. It has a wide range of biological functions, including mediating inflammatory response, regulating immunity, and regulating metabolism. The molecular weight of IL-1 is 17.5KD, and there are two types: IL-1α and IL-1β, mainly IL-1β. interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1R) includes type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ, and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra or IL-1γ) also exists. IL-1ra can bind to IL-1 receptor, but does not cause corresponding action.
Recombinant human interleukin-1β, produced by our Escherichia coli expression system, is expressed with the target gene encoding Ala117-Ser269. Interleukin-1β (IL1B), produced by activated macrophages, is synthesized into pro-IL-1β under the action of pro-inflammatory protease caspase-1 and converted into active IL-1β, which belongs to the IL-1 gene family and is a pro-inflammatory cytokine. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 2q14. IL-1β was 50% more effective in promoting the differentiation of human CD4+T cells into Th17 (T-helper) cells than the protein expressed in E. coli. This cytokine is produced in serum-free, chemically defined medium.

Storage condition: -20℃, avoid light, damp, sealed and dry
Transport conditions: 2~8℃ transport
Biological activity:
IL-1β (IL1B) stimulates thymus cell proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1β protein is involved in the inflammatory response and has been identified as an endogenous thermogenic agent, reportedly stimulating the release of prostaglandins and collagenase from synovial cells. IL-1β is present in chronic inflammatory and fibrotic tissues. Mutations in the interleukin-1β gene are associated with renal manifestations and renal sequelae in purpura. It has also been linked to the destruction of beta cells in type 1 diabetes.
