SCFS stimulate the proliferation of myeloid, erythroid, and lymphoid progenitors in bone marrow culture and act in concert with colony-stimulating factors. SCF plays an important role in hematopoiesis, spermatogenesis and melanin production. It also promotes mast cell adhesion, migration, proliferation and survival.
