Mycoplasma capricolum subspecies Mycoplasma capricolum belongs to the Mycoplasma mycoides cluster), and its hosts include goats and sheep. Mccp can cause contagious goat pleuropneumonia, with symptoms including acute respiratory distress, cough, runny nose and severe fibrous pleuropneumonia; it can also cause goat mastitis, leading to mammary gland atrophy and loss of lactation ability.


The in vitro culture of Mycoplasma caprine pneumonia is difficult because of its relatively demanding culture conditions. Harsh, grows slowly in liquid media, and can only form very tiny colonies on solid media, which are often masked by the growth of other mycoplasmas. Serological detection methods are prone to cross-reactivity with other members of the Mycoplasma mycoides family. In contrast, the PCR method has the advantages of fast speed, strong specificity and high sensitivity. Ordinary PCR experiments are cumbersome and cannot quantify target DNA. Real-time quantitative PCR can not only quantitatively analyze target DNA, but the experimental steps are also simpler and more sensitive.

山羊支原体亚种山羊肺炎支原体(Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. Capripneumoniae ,简称Mccp)属于丝状支原体族(Mycoplasma mycoides cluster),宿主包括山羊和绵羊。Mccp可引起传染性山羊胸膜肺炎,症状包括急性呼吸窘迫、咳嗽、流鼻涕和严重的纤维性胸膜肺炎;还可以引起山羊乳腺炎,导致乳腺萎缩,丧失泌乳能力。

山羊肺炎支原体的体外培养难度较高,因其培养条件要求较为苛刻,在液体培养基中生长缓慢,在固体培养基上也仅能形成非常微小的克隆,常被其他支原体的生长所掩盖。而血清学检测方法则容易与其他丝状支原体族成员产生交叉反应。相比之下,PCR法具有速度快、特异性强、灵敏度高的优势。普通PCR实验操作较为繁琐,无法对目标DNA进行定量,实时定量PCR不仅可以对目标DNA进行定量分析,实验步骤也较为简单,且灵敏度更高。
