Mycoplasma Flocculare and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae are both infectious bacteria that exist in the respiratory tract of pigs. They are judged based on antigen composition and genome analysis. , these two mycoplasmas are closely related. Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is the pathogen of endemic pneumonia in pigs, while Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is generally non-pathogenic and may cause opportunistic infections when Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae invades the body. These two mycoplasmas have characteristics that differ from most mycoplasma species in that they are difficult to culture and do not have the typical "fried egg" appearance of colonies on solid media. The size and shape of Mycoplasma floccosum are not fixed, especially in the later stages of growth. In the stable and declining stages of growth, filamentous cells can be found, a cell shape that is not present in M.hyopneumoniae.

Since Mycoplasma floccosum does not cause disease, although it is widely distributed in pigs, However, there are few detection methods, mainly in vitro culture methods, which are time-consuming. The PCR method can be used to detect Mycoplasma floccosum with high sensitivity and short detection time, and the results can be obtained in just a few hours.

The Mycoplasma floccosum PCR detection kit selects a sequence of the 16S rRNA gene for PCR identification, and the primers were verified by BLAST to specifically target Mycoplasma floccosum and have no cross-reaction with the genomes of other organisms. This kit was used to detect a total of 19 strains and isolates of Mycoplasma floccosum, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma hyosynoviae and Mycoplasma hyorhinis strains, only Mycoplasma floccosum produced specific amplification bands. 由于絮状支原体不引起疾病，虽然在猪群中分布广泛，但检测方法很少，主要还是体外培养法，耗时较长。使用PCR法可以对絮状支原体进行检测，灵敏度高，且检测时间短，仅需几个小时即可获得结果。

絮状支原体PCR检测试剂盒选取了16S rRNA基因的一段序列进行PCR鉴定，引物经BLAST验证为特异性靶向絮状支原体，与其他生物的基因组无交叉反应。使用本试剂盒检测了絮状支原体、猪肺炎支原体、猪滑液支原体（Mycoplasma Hyosynoviae）和猪鼻支原体（Mycoplasma Hyorhinis）等共19个菌株和分离株，只有絮状支原体产生特异性扩增条带。可见本试剂盒具有物种特异性，可用于絮状支原体的鉴定和检测。
