Determination Significance: H2S is a new gaseous signal molecule and neurotransmitter existing in the brain. Physiological concentration of H2S plays an important role in regulating the long-term enhancement function of the hippocampus of the nervous system, and plays an important pathophysiological effect on the process of spontaneous hypertension, hemorrhagic shock and liver cirrhosis.
Determination principle: Methylene blue is formed by the reaction of H2S with zinc acetate, N, N-dimethyl p-phenylenediamine and ammonium ferric sulfate. Methylene blue has the maximum absorption peak at 665nm, and the content of H2S can be calculated by measuring its absorbance value.
Equipment needed, supplies: balance, low temperature centrifuge, visible spectrophotometer, 1 mL glass cuvette, distilled water.
