Product Instruction:

Rhubarb is a perennial herb that can be used as a traditional Chinese medicine. Emodin, as one of the main active components of rhubarb, has a molecular formula of C15H10O5. Emodin has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, free radical scavenging, immune regulation and other pharmacological effects.


Emodin has a characteristic absorption peak at 280 nm, and its content can be determined by HPLC UV detector.


Instruments and reagents required in the test:


HPLC (Agilent EXTEND-C18 column (4.6×250 mm), Uv detector (VWD), desktop centrifuge, adjustable pipetting gun, mortar/homogenizer, EPT(1.5 mL), needle filter (water system, organic system), syringe, extraction filter, filter film (water system, organic system), brown into S bottle, ultrapure water, acetonitrile (chromatographic pure).


Product Content:


Extract: Liquid 60 mL ×1 bottle, stored at 4℃.


Reagent 1: liquid 4 mL ×1 bottle, stored at 4℃.


Reagent 2: liquid 5 mL ×1 bottle, stored at 4℃.


Standard: powder ×1 bottle, stored at 4℃. Before use, add 4 mL of reagent II to prepare 0.5 mg/mL emodin standard solution, and keep it sealed at 4℃ to avoid direct sunlight.


In nuclear organisms, and in all eukaryotes, it is an oxidoreductase that converts formaldehyde. Formaldehyde dehydrogenase can catalyze formaldehyde and NAD+ to produce NADH, and the absorbance value at 340nm will increase. The activity of formaldehyde dehydrogenase can be calculated by measuring the change of absorbance value at 343nm.
