Chlamydia caviae, also known as Chlamydia caviae/Chlamydia caviae . The currently known host of Chlamydia guinea pigs is limited to guinea pigs. In recent years, there have also been reports of infecting humans. It is not yet certain whether it can be transmitted between humans. Guinea pigs are sometimes infected in a subclinical state and sometimes show symptoms. PCR is a method of enzymatically synthesizing specific DNA fragments in vitro. The sensitivity is much higher than that of staining. It has strong specificity and can determine the type of bacterial infection. 豚鼠衣原体(Chlamydia caviae),也称为豚鼠嗜衣原体/豚鼠亲衣原体(Chlamydophila caviae),是一种专性细胞内寄生的原核生物,呈杆状,革兰氏阴性,曾被归类为鹦鹉热衣原体(Chlamydia psittaci)。豚鼠衣原体目前已知的宿主限于豚鼠,近年也有感染人类的报道,尚不确定是否可以在人类之间传播。豚鼠感染后有时处于亚临床状态,有时表现出症状,已知的症状限于这几种类型:轻度眼皮红肿、带有稀薄或脓性分泌物的结膜炎、鼻炎以及生殖道感染,也有关于流产和下呼吸道感染的报道。感染带有自限性,可在3-4周内自愈。

对豚鼠衣原体的检测,最初是通过对结膜细胞进行Giemsa或Macchiavello染色,观察是否有特征性的细胞质内涵体,灵敏度很低。PCR是一种体外酶促合成特异性DNA 片段的方法,灵敏度远高于染色法,特异性强,可以确定感染的细菌种类,检测速度快,只需两三个小时即可完成,因此可以有效替代染色法检测豚鼠衣原体。定量PCR法与普通PCR法相比,不仅可以精确定量,而且操作更为方便,更少受环境污染的影响。

本试剂盒针对胞膜外蛋白的基因序列设计引物和探针,可以特异性识别豚鼠衣原体,与其他生物基因组没有交叉反应。本试剂盒检测了5种不同的衣原体/嗜衣原体和14种其他细菌,未发现非特异性信号。使用本试剂盒对440个来自不同家养哺乳动物的衣原体阳性样本进行检测,获得17个阳性,其中12个源于豚鼠,5个源于和豚鼠共同饲养的兔(4个)和狗(1个)。可见本试剂盒适用于豚鼠衣原体的检测和鉴定。
