Mycoplasma cloaca can be detected through culture. Serological methods are time-consuming and require purified in vitro culture colonies, and antiserum is not easy to obtain. Using the PCR method has the advantages of high sensitivity and short detection time, and results can be obtained in just a few hours.

泄殖腔支原体可通过培养法进行检测,缺点是培养较为困难,外观为典型的煎蛋状,与其他支原体不易区分,需进行生化鉴定。血清学方法则耗时较长,需要纯化的体外培养菌落,抗血清也不易获得。使用PCR法则具有高灵敏度的优点,且检测时间短,仅需几个小时即可获得结果。

泄殖腔支原体PCR检测试剂盒选取DNA聚合酶基因进行PCR鉴定,引物经BLAST验证为特异性靶向泄殖腔支原体,与其他生物的基因组无交叉反应。使用本试剂盒检测了19个泄殖腔支原体菌株以及15种其他鸟类支原体,仅有19个泄殖腔支原体菌株产生特异性条带;对28个水禽类样本进行检测,获得18个阳性,同测序结果一致。可见本试剂盒具有物种特异性,可用于泄殖腔支原体的鉴定和检测。
