PubMed PubMed Product Detail MRP3 (Canalicular Multi Organic Anion Transporter 2 / Multidrug Resistance Associated Protein 3, cMOAT2) is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. The specific function of MRP3 has not yet been determined; however, this protein may play a role in the transport of biliary and intestinal excretion of organic anions.
Function:
May act as an inducible transporter in the biliary and intestinal excretion of organic anions. Acts as an alternative route for the export of bile acids and glucuronides from cholestatic hepatocytes.

Mainly expressed in the liver. Also expressed in small intestine, colon, prostate, testis, brain and at a lower level in the kidney.

MRP3 (multidrug resistance protein 3)在正常epithelial cells:如;消化道,气管支气管,膀胱、肾上腺和睾丸组织中有不同的表达,在各种组织的基质细胞中也有程度不同的表达,在Tlymphocyte中表达较高,而原始造血Stem cells中则无表达。
MRP3又称ABCC3主要用于非PglycoproteinMDRTumour细胞系的Tumour耐药性的研究。
经研究发现MRP的同源性较高,他包括:MRP1、 MRP2、MRP3、MRP4和MRP5、MRP6和MRP7,都有部分交叉同源。
